Sena Cases, Leather iPad Case Review

By

Sena cases have gained great popularity over the last decade. Started in 1999 by two brothers, Sena is dedicated to producing well-designed, stylish leather cases for mobile devices. As much as style is a top consideration for Sena, however, so is functionality. Besides looking good and protecting your device, Sena cases are expected to enhance the use of your device and not hinder it.

For the iPad these expectations are met via a line of seven different genuine leather iPad cases, one to meet every kind of user’s needs.

The Sena Sarach Dockable iPad Case

The Sarach Dockable is a perfect place to start. Offering “protective functionality with luxurious designer style”, this simple, genuine leather skin is perfect for everyday use. Protecting your iPad from scratches and abrasions, the Sarach Dockable iPad Case allows for full usage of the iPad –and more. All ports and controls –extra points for not overlooking the light sensor- are accessible, as you’d expect, and the case is still slim enough to dock. But there’s also a collapsible kickstand on the back for video viewing, and even a finger loop for displaying the iPad’s screen to others.

With a hand-sewn saddle-stitched design to add interest, a tab snap closure, and available in four sophisticated color options, the Sena Sarach Dockable is a great looking case. Sena leather always feels lovely, soft and smooth, and the look and feel will endear themselves to you as time goes by. It’s that kind of leather.

The fit of the case is snug, but not skin-tight. This case offers full frame protection for the iPad, but the top edge of the device is left largely exposed. The interior is lined with micro-velvet.

The Sena iPad Folio Case

If you’re looking for a play-through case that offers a bit more portability-minded protection, the Sena iPad Folio Case may fit the bill. Made of luxurious, soft Napa leather, this case offers partial framing protection for the iPad and full accessibility to all ports and controls in a commuter-friendly folio case allowing you to grab and go.

Available in black, brown or red, with a snap tab closure, for video viewing the Sena iPad Folio Case does include a snap-closed kickstand. Typing on the iPad in this case can be a challenge, but this is a characteristic typical of most folio cases for the iPad.

There are a few credit card slots, an ID holder and a checkbook pocket inside the front cover. Lined with velvet and incorporating a rigid layer for light protection, this case would make a convenient home for the iPad user who’s never in just one place at a time.

The Sena iPad Zipbook

Another on-the-go option is the Sena ZipBook, also available in black, brown or red. A clamshell type case, this case offers a bit more commuting protection than the Folio case detailed above.

The zipper in the ZipBook wraps around three sides of the case, enclosing the iPad completely away from bumps and scuffing. Unzipped, the ZipBook provides for full access to all ports and controls. Though the iPad is held in place by corner straps which habitually block access to the controls of the iPad, Sena’s attention to detail translates into precise, play-through cutouts.

With a snap-closed collapsible, recessed kickstand on the back, the Zipbook can be used for occasional comfortable video watching.  Genuine Napa leather exterior, soft velvet-lined interior and quality construction combined, you can be confident that your iPad is safe and secure inside the Sena Zipbook.

The Sena iPad UltraSlim Sleeve

If play-through cases aren’t what you’re after, and you want to hold the iPad unencumbered in your hands, the Sena UltraSlim iPad Sleeve offers convenient as-needed protection for the iPad when not in use.

The UltraSlim features a snug embrace for your iPad, but with a micro-velvet lined interior and notched sides at the opening for easy removal of the device. This Sena iPad case is available in a broad range of colors to suit any taste. Made of genuine leather, with quality construction and a simple, sophisticated look.

Two rigid handles are curved for easy carrying, but retract into the sides of the case to get them out of the way when not in use. A large pleated front pocket with snap closure gives room for accessories while the padded construction and side zipper hold the iPad secure.

Available in black or red, or black or red ‘croco’ leather, the Sena Collega is the perfect case for the iPad user on the go.
