Slimmed down like the iPhone 4 itself, the Classic Piel Frama iPhone 4 leather case is a flip-style case folding closed over the face of the device. This type of casing provides very good all-over cell phone protection in an easy-to-use and completely functional format. In the case of the Piel Frama Classic case which we're looking at here this all-over protection is reinforced with impact resistant ABS inserts.

The framing device in the Piel Frama Classic case hugs the iPhone 4 snug and securely in place, leaving perfectly precise cutouts to expose all controls and features. There's nothing here to wrestle with, and the snug fit of the case prohibits any unwanted shifting about of the device.

There is also a nice wide cutout for the camera avoiding halo flash effects, and two credit card slots and a money pocket adorn the inside of the flip cover. The case is said to solve the iPhone 4 antenna problem.

One of the best features of this case is the rotable and removable belt clip. This allows the case to be worn either vertically or horizontally -the latter often considered the more comfortable position for cell phones attached at the waist. This is a very strong clip, however, and can be clipped to just about anything.

The iMagnum Piel Frama case is also a flip-style case with a removable holster feature, but its inner polymer core make the iMagnum more of a hard case, if not quite. Trimmed down like the Classic Case for the slimmer iPhone 4, Piel Frama may have done a bit too much editing in the iMagnum case.

They've really opened up the camera area. In fact they've cut it out -completely. This may prove to be an over-compensation. Leaving this entire back corner of the iPhone 4 exposed is a risky move, for Piel Frama and the consumer.

The idea behind a flip-style case is to provide over-all coverage for the device. This allows the iPhone owner to live at ease with their iPhone, placing it in pockets and purses with other items and not having to worry about it. If you wish to keep your iPhone scratch-free then that level of comfort will not be the case with this case. Stick with the Piel Frama iPhone 4 Classic.

If the trade-off is worth it to you to obtain the wide-open camera area and you feel there is a true difference in camera quality, then this may be just what you want. Most people do find the widened opening such as in the Classic Case above quite effective.

Full leather interior like all Piel Frama leather cases, but be aware that the tab magnet closure in the iMagnum may interfere with the internal compass of the iPhone 4, which isn't a problem for most users.

A very tasteful Piel Frama steerhead medallion is included with each iMagnum case as an optional replacement for the removed belt clip. A tool is included to make it all happen, and with the steerhead medallion in place rather than the belt clip there is no sign at all of the holster case the Piel Frama Classic is also designed to be. The small medallion adds a nice, tastefully done touch of bling to the luxurious leather case.

The Piel Frama iPhone 4 Classic Case will make my list of best iPhone 4 cases. It's a lovely, highly functional and versatile case, that would be a perfect gift for a man or a woman.
